Big thanks to the 31st Ave Open Street volunteers for making these outdoor markets possible! These markets help fund The Astoria Food Pantry (AFP), a community hub for mutual aid action. AFP maintains a storefront on Steinway Street that offers free food, clothing and books to our neighbors. An active programming partner and market vendor of the Open Street, they’ve hosted a number of drives—for food, and clothing—as well as bigger events, like the annual ‘Halloween and Giving’ and Holiday Market, which raised over $10,000 for the Pantry.

Cure Thrift is a non-profit thrift destination in Manhattan's East Village that benefits juvenile diabetes research and advocacy. Cure Thrift's founder, Liz Wolff was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes when she was 11 years old. As a fourth generation garage sale and thrift shop-scouring, dumpster-diving New Yorker, Liz combined her passion for arts and antiques with her personal mission: to dedicate her life to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. Cure Thrift is a treasure hunter's paradise.
